The role

The IDB is seeking a Treasury and Risk Specialist to join the Treasury Client Solutions Group in Washington, DC. This professional will manage sovereign debt management options, provide client coverage, and execute interest rate and currency swap transactions. What you'll do

  • Manage client coverage for debt management options within FFF loan contracts.
  • Monitor financial markets to proactively identify opportunities for client financial resilience.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate vulnerabilities to interest rate, FX, and commodity price changes.
  • Lead the execution and negotiation of interest rate fixings and currency swaps.
  • Maintain ongoing dialogue with market swap counterparts regarding pricing and new products.

What it takes

  • MBA or equivalent degree in Finance.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in sovereign debt or liability management.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required; Portuguese or French is a plus.
  • Proven ability to interpret market developments into actionable client strategies.
  • Must be a citizen of one of the 48 IDB member countries.
