The role
Solutions Architects on Planet’s Professional Services team are experienced technologists who work with customers to deeply understand their problems and make them successful users of Planet's product offerings.
What you'll do
- Architect, design, pilot and operationalize solutions
- Deliver workshops, tailored demo-apps, and workflows
- Support pre-sales and customer expansions on solution ideation and design
- Act as the technical lead in solution development teams
- Liaise with cross-functional stakeholders
- Collaborate with sales, pre-sales, marketing, business development, legal, proposals, and other teams
What it takes
- 4+ years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Geography, or a related field
- Extensive programming ability with Python for geospatial applications
- Experience with solution design, requirement gathering, product user story ideation, solutions design documentation, architecting and prototyping
- Proficiency with QGIS, ArcGIS, GDAL, ENVI or other common geospatial software
- Industry-specific knowledge and experience in domains such as forestry, natural disasters, sustainability, and agriculture
