The role

The Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for managing the configuration, release cycles, and operational support of Zip, the procurement and intake platform, at The New York Times. What you'll do

  • Manage Zip configuration, including workflows, fields, validations, permissions, and company settings
  • Manage Zip release cycles, including reviewing release notes, assessing impact, advising business, coordinating testing, and promoting changes from sandbox to production
  • Administer user roles and permissions in Zip to ensure appropriate access, segregation of tasks, and compliance with governance and security standards
  • Partner with Sourcing, Accounts Payable, Finance, and Legal to translate requirements into Zip configuration changes
  • Evaluate and resolve Zip support requests, defects, and small enhancements
  • Follow SDLC and change control procedures to guarantee proper configuration, testing, validation, and deployment

What it takes

  • 5+ years of experience administering or configuring SaaS procurement or finance applications
  • 3+ years in modern integration patterns (APIs, event-driven architectures)
  • Hands-on experience managing configuration in a production SaaS environment, including testing, release management, and change control
  • Familiarity with enterprise ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow/Bytes, JIRA) and structured intake and prioritization processes
  • Experience translating requirements into structured configuration changes and documenting decisions
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and data quality
