The role
The Programme Officer will lead and support the quality implementation of the THRIVE Programme in Fashoda and Panyikang Counties, focusing on livestock development, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and early warning systems.
What you'll do
- Support planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of THRIVE activities.
- Provide technical guidance on livestock, DRR/CCA, early warning, and anticipatory action.
- Strengthen the capacity of CDoM staff and local partners.
- Lead preparation of programme reports, assessments, sitreps, and other documentation.
- Support community-based structures, including Community Action Groups and Payam Disaster Management Authorities.
- Coordinate with local authorities, communities, UN agencies, and other stakeholders.
What it takes
- University degree in rural development, agriculture, livestock/veterinary studies, natural resources management, community development or a related field.
- At least 4 years’ relevant technical and practical experience in South Sudan, including livestock, DRR, CCA, early warning, anticipatory action, livelihoods or resilience programming.
- Experience in programme cycle management, monitoring, assessment, and reporting.
- Experience working with and through local/national partner organisations and strengthening partner capacity.
- Knowledge of humanitarian and development quality standards, including SPHERE, Core Humanitarian Standards, LEGS, and Do No Harm.
- Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
