The role

Astera Institute is seeking a Nanoelectronics & Device-Physics Engineer to design electrostatic drives and field-effect sensors for nanoscale actuators, own fabrication processes, and conduct electrical characterization.

What you'll do

  • Design the electrostatic drive stack
  • Validate dielectric's long-term reliability
  • Define full device stack and direct its fabrication
  • Characterize finished devices on bench
  • Ensure measurement toolchain can resolve quantities being measured

What it takes

  • PhD or MS in electrical engineering, applied physics, materials science, or a related field
  • Experience with high-k dielectrics and thin-film stacks
  • Cleanroom process design and electron-beam lithography
  • Comfort at the bench with nanoscale electromechanical characterization
  • AFM experience is a plus
  • Ability to partner closely with molecular-design and controls colleagues
