Legal Fellow
The role
The ACLU's Criminal Law Reform Project is seeking a Legal Fellow to work on litigation and advocacy aimed at challenging overloaded public defense systems and addressing systemic government conduct. This position is a one- to two-year fellowship, with candidates invited to apply for external sponsorship to begin in the fall of 2027. The role involves conducting legal research, drafting litigation materials, interviewing clients, and supporting public education advocacy. The fellow will also assist in managing the summer legal internship program and gain experience in state and federal courts.
