The role
EIT is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement and support secure, reliable and scalable IT infrastructure across on-premises, hybrid-cloud and cloud environments.
What you'll do
- Design, implement and maintain server, storage, virtualisation and cloud infrastructure
- Administer Windows Server, Linux and Microsoft Azure services
- Manage VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter environments
- Support core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, backup, disaster recovery and monitoring
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents, problems and service requests
- Maintain secure infrastructure configurations in line with cyber-security and audit requirements
What it takes
- Experience administering Microsoft infrastructure, including Windows Server and Azure resources
- Deploying and managing virtualised environments using VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter
- Knowledge of server and storage hardware technologies
- Strong understanding of core networking services, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, firewalls and VPN connectivity
- Experience with backup, disaster recovery, patching and infrastructure lifecycle management
- Experience using scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell, Bash or Python
