The role
This position is for professionals to be included in a pool of experts for rapid deployment, short term (at least 4 weeks), and/or gap filling position for Ukraine country program, focusing on technical support and implementation of project activities related to water and sanitation services, energy, and shelter repairs.
What you'll do
- Conducting technical assessments of project sites, designs, and specifications
- Drafting or revising existing bills of quantities (BoQs) for infra/Wash/shelter/civil works
- Ensuring compliance with national building codes and standards
- Reviewing and evaluating bids from contractors and suppliers
- Providing technical supervision and guidance to implementation teams on site
- Inspecting and approving executed works and issuing completion certificates
What it takes
- Engineering degree in civil, water or environment or similar relevant field
- Experience in building or restoring institutional and residential areas
- Experience with implementation of projects in countries with development or humanitarian context
- Knowledge on software such as AutoCAD, WaterCAD, Sketchup
- Ability to speak Ukrainian or Russian language
