The role
The Digital Impact Manager will provide technical support and oversight for Technology for Development (T4D) activities in the ESA region. This role involves guiding country programme teams in integrating ICT and digital innovations into UNICEF programming while strengthening internal capacities. The manager will lead the development and implementation of digital strategies, ensure compliance with best practices, and manage partnerships for resource mobilization. What you'll do
- Provide guidance and technical oversight to the Country Office in the identification, selection, concept design, deployment and sustainability of T4D interventions.
- Lead the integration of digital development and technology innovation into the programme planning lifecycle.
- Manage projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery throughout the lifecycle from assessment through to implementation and ongoing operations.
- Oversee quality assurance during planning and deployment of T4D initiatives.
- Lead the development and implementation of the technology and digital innovation strategy for the Country Office.
- Build and sustain effective close working partnerships with high-level government counterparts and national stakeholders.
What it takes
- Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Information Systems, Information Management, International Development, Business Analysis, ICT Management, Innovation, Computer Science, Digital Development, Digital Transformation and other related fields.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in Information Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) in a large international organization or corporation.
- Experience identifying, designing and implementing solutions for complex, large-scale projects with technical components.
- Experience with ICT, mobile and web-based technologies, particularly designing or deploying tools appropriate to the region.
- Experience strategically leading and managing people.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is desirable.
