The role
The Digital Health Consultant will support the national scale-up of HEP Assist AI, a clinical decision-support tool, within the Ministry of Health in Ethiopia. This role involves technical product design, system architecture support, and software implementation, as well as stakeholder and government engagement.
What you'll do
- Design and deploy scalable software builds for digital health tools
- Ensure all LMH-supported digital tools align with Ministry of Health data governance frameworks
- Develop and maintain integrated national health systems data pipelines
- Translate field-level requirements into functional specifications for software engineering teams
- Provide technical training and support to health workers and system leaders
- Coordinate daily communication and strategic alignment with the MOH Digital Health Lead Executive Office

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience managing the full software development lifecycle
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration, APIs, and digital health platforms
- Experience applying user-centered design principles
- Experience working with open-source software and customizing digital platforms
- Experience supporting software development, including full-stack development, debugging, testing, and version control tools such as Git
