The role

The consultant will work closely with the P2P project team and relevant stakeholders in Kenya and Tanzania to strengthen and demonstrate sustained adoption of improved retorts among participating ASGM mines and generate their environmental, social and economic impacts.

What it takes

  • Degree in Mineral/Chemical Processing Engineering
  • Experience in the small-scale gold mining sector in East Africa
  • Experience in Artisanal and small-scale gold processing optimization in East Africa
  • Experience with mercury management and/or mercury reduction interventions in ASGM
  • Experience with Retort technology and safe mercury handling in ASGM
  • Good communication skills
