The role
The Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology is seeking a Coaching and Experience Officer to support students' academic, personal, and professional development, focusing on coaching, student wellbeing, and safeguarding.
What you'll do
- Deliver structured coaching and mentoring
- Provide 1:1 guidance on mental health and wellbeing
- Conduct professional, trauma-sensitive, psychologically safe wellbeing conversations
- Manage a diverse caseload, triaging needs, and collaborating with external services
- Escalate safeguarding concerns
- Champion inclusion and accessibility
What it takes
- Educated to degree level
- Training or certification in coaching, mentoring, professional development or student success practices
- Previous experience of working in higher or further education, youth work or a related field
- Experience working in 1:1 support such as coaching, mentoring or professional development
- Knowledge of safeguarding, prevent, risk management and adult/student protection
- Ability to build rapport, listen actively and hold psychologically safe conversations
