The role
IsraAID Uganda is seeking a WASH Assistant to implement WASH activities in Nyakabande Transit Center, Kisoro, Uganda, under the guidance of the Senior WASH Officer.
What you'll do
- Ensure adequate access to clean and safe water at the transit center and host communities
- Apply appropriate BCC approaches to mobilize and sensitize communities on WASH practices
- Lead sanitation campaigns and efforts to end open defecation
- Support the promotion of appropriate hygiene practices and behaviors
- Manage and distribute WASH materials related to assigned project activities
- Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of WASH interventions
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, Community Health, Water Engineering or similar field
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in WASH programs
- Experience in implementing WASH-related activities or public health-related activities
- Knowledge about WASH Social Behaviour Change and Communication approaches
- Strong facilitation and community mobilization skills
- Good computer skills and ability to write technical reports
