The role
The Technical Officer (Gender and Human Rights) will provide technical support and coordination to the implementation of gender, equity, human rights, and gender-based violence (GBV) related interventions in Ukraine.
What you'll do
- Provide support to the WHO Country Office on gender, equity, human rights, and GBV
- Support the development of a country workplan for gender and GBV mainstreaming
- Conduct analysis of sex- and age-disaggregated data
- Prepare communication and dissemination materials
- Integrate GBV prevention and response into health services
- Support the Public Health Officer in integrating gender-responsive and GBV-sensitive approaches into educational curricula
What it takes
- First-level university degree in communication, social policy, healthcare, health policy, public management, economics, demography, public health, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in health and/or social sectors
- Expert knowledge of English and Ukrainian
- Demonstrated general knowledge of gender equality, GBV prevention and response, human rights, and health equity concepts and approaches
- Ability to work within significant uncertainties in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong communication skills, orally and written
