The role
The Karishim Swim Club at the JCC Greater Boston in Newton, MA, is seeking a Swim Coach (KASC) to prepare practices, create recruitment plans, and work with the Aquatics Department to develop athletes.
What you'll do
- Prepare practices on a weekly basis
- Create recruitment, retention, and athletic development plans
- Work closely with the Aquatics Staff and other coaches
- Participate in weekend swim meets
- Attend coach’s meetings
- Help determine swimmers’ events for meet entries
What it takes
- Current/valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certification, with CPR, AED and First Aid
- USA Swimming Coaches Certification or ability to obtain coaches certification within 14 days of hire
- Strong, effective teaching/communication skills
- Stroke and skill techniques as well as dryland training/technique
- Coaching experience with athletes of all ages
- Ability to communicate with community members and coworkers effectively
