The role
The Senior Project Associate - Climate Action will support the implementation of migration and climate resilience programming in Mindanao, particularly the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), in accordance with IOM’s policies, standards, and commitments.
What you'll do
- Support the coordination and implementation of migration and climate resilient projects
- Analyze implementation difficulties and make recommendations for adjusting project implementation modalities
- Regularly research, follow-up, compile, analyze and present information/data
- Monitor, document, and contribute to reporting on project implementation
- Coordinate and monitor the financial, administrative, and technical aspects of the project
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct capacity building workshops
What it takes
- Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights Law or a related field with five years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations
- Experience in implementing migration and climate resilience related projects in the Philippines particularly in BARMM
- Experience in project implementation, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination within migration, climate resilience, humanitarian, peacebuilding or community stabilization programmes
- Prior work experience with UN related organizations, international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage
