The role
The Gates Foundation is seeking a Senior Program Officer, AI & Digital Health Delivery to manage a portfolio of AI and health delivery investments across multiple geographies and levels of a health system in Africa, focusing on solutions that align with government priorities and the foundation’s health goals.
What you'll do
- Identify, develop, and manage a multi-country portfolio of investments in AI and digital health
- Lead due diligence, define results frameworks, milestones, and KPIs, monitor performance, and make clear recommendations
- Ensure investments demonstrate a credible pathway to government adoption and public value
- Lead bidirectional engagement between the EGH team and ECO/NCO
- Serve as the day-to-day technical resource to the ECO/NCO
- Support counterparts in the ARO on their AI and digital health investments
What it takes
- Advanced degree in public health, medicine, data science, computer science, engineering, or a related field
- At least 10 years of senior-level experience in digital and AI-driven solutions
- Familiarity with AI applications in healthcare and public health contexts
- Proven knowledge of primary health care delivery and health systems strengthening in LMICs
- Grant making and portfolio management experience
- Experience engaging governments, Ministries of Health, NGOs, implementing partners, academic institutions, and global funders
