The role

UNFPA WCARO is establishing a pre-qualified Regional Consultant Roster to deploy technical expertise for humanitarian, development, and peace initiatives across West and Central Africa. The roster supports various domains including Peace & Security, MEAL, and Strategy for youth, gender equality, and reproductive health programming. Selected experts will be eligible for short-term and long-term consultancy contracts to provide advisory, research, and evaluation services. This is an open-ended call for applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical and strategic advisory services to regional and country offices.
  • Design and implement programmatic frameworks in fragile or conflict-affected settings.
  • Conduct research, assessments, and OECD-DAC standard evaluations.
  • Strengthen partnerships with governments, civil society, and youth-led organizations.
  • Support policy development and advocacy regarding SRHR and peace-building agendas.

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or PhD) in International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies, Law, or Social Sciences.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in relevant thematic domains.
  • Proven experience working in fragile or conflict-affected settings, specifically the Sahel or Lake Chad Basin.
  • Fluency in English and mandatory working knowledge of French.
  • Demonstrated expertise in YPS/WPS agendas, nexus programming, or MEAL.
