Project Officer (PRO)

The role

The role involves leading the implementation of the Sierra Leone Coastal Resilience Project at the community level, focusing on climate change adaptation and food security in Pujehun, Sierra Leone.

What you'll do

• Conduct project assessments and report outcomes
• Develop community profiles and recommendations
• Ensure transparent and gender-equitable selection of project beneficiaries
• Work with local partners to establish community adaptation committees
• Conduct training for communities on climate hazards
• Lead in the distribution of livelihood materials

What it takes

• BSc. /HND Certificate, Diploma in development studies, social work, sociology, agriculture, environment
• At least 2 years’ experience in Food Security/Livelihoods, agricultural extension services or rural development
• Experience implementing community development programmes, especially in rural communities
• Experience in implementing conservation projects, Education, Community based adaptation projects
• Good written and spoken English; including documentation and report-writing skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
