The role

The Platform for Peace and Humanity is seeking a volunteer Project Coordinator (Peace Education) to support the design and implementation of projects that integrate factors promoting sustainable peace in the education and youth sector in the Mediterranean Region.

What you'll do

  • Conduct research, data collection and analysis on sustainable peace education initiatives and policy frameworks in the Mediterranean Region
  • Initiate contact with relevant interlocutors in the Mediterranean Region and identify funding opportunities and potential partnerships
  • Design and develop projects/activities with significance for the Programme
  • Support the implementation of projects according to approved donor proposals and Programme strategies

What it takes

  • A solid understanding of the Mediterranean Region, including the socio-political context and human rights issues
  • A university degree in peace studies, education, political science, human rights, or in a related field, with demonstrated experience in research and/or project coordination
  • Five to seven years of work experience in peace education and/or peacebuilding
  • Project management skills including budget development
  • Stakeholder engagement and resource mobilisation
  • Experience in drafting policy-oriented content, high-quality strategic documents based on scientific sources in the context of education, peacebuilding and/or human rights
