The role

The Program Officer will work closely with the MCC Mozambique program team to accompany partner organizations in project planning, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting of MCC-funded projects. This position supports the work of MCC Mozambique Program Coordinators and may also provide small support to the Finance and Administration team.

What you'll do

  • Accompanying partner organizations with program planning, project design, and implementation of project activities that benefit vulnerable communities
  • Regularly visit partners’ working areas for monitoring, coaching and capacity support in planning, monitoring and evaluation
  • Collaborate closely with partners to ensure high quality and prompt program narrative and financial reporting
  • Summarize MCC Mozambique activities and outputs for the country program for purposes of reporting and publicity
  • Gather data and information for preparation of annual reports
  • Support the Country Representative in government liaison duties

What it takes

  • Commitment to MCC Mozambique’s values
  • Five+ years of experience in related work in Program Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (PMER) or Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) in Education and Team Building
  • Experience working within the INGO environment
  • Experience working in rural areas of Central and Southern Mozambique
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Portuguese
  • Proven competence in project design, outcome-oriented planning, monitoring and evaluation
