The role
The Program Assistant at Our Daily Bread will provide information, assistance, and security to the program and its guests, working 16 hours per week on Saturdays and Sundays from 4 PM to 12 AM.
What you'll do
- Maintain a safe and secure environment
- Handle specialized tasks including monitoring policies and procedures
- Work with clients and volunteers
- Maintain logs and files
- Ensure residents are aware of their rights and the grievance process
- React to emergency situations appropriately
What it takes
- One year of related experience with homeless or at-risk populations
- Certified in CPR and/or First Aid within six months of employment
- ServSafe® (ODB, Sarah’s House and WHRC - 402000) within six months of employment
- Ability to utilize or learn computer systems and software
- Shows reliability by being punctual and maintaining consistent attendance
- Good social skills with a respectful demeanor
