The role
Hawks Aloft, Inc. is seeking a part-time wildlife rehabilitator to coordinate the Raptor Rescue program and work closely with the Raptor Rescue Dispatcher.
What you'll do
- Interact well with volunteers and other nonprofit organizations and government agencies
- Work hand-in-hand with our social media team to provide images and stories
- Maintain the WRMD medical database
- Manage all state and federal permit reporting
- Conduct in-house rehabilitation and work with our home-based rehabilitators
- Participate in occasional rescues, transportation and re-nesting efforts
What it takes
- Proven wildlife rehabilitation experience with raptors
- Intermediate-to-advanced wildlife rehabilitation skills including handling, nutrition, physical exam, injections, gavage feeding, and subcutaneous fluid administration
- Excellent interpersonal skills, team-building experience and work well in a team setting
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Experience with WRMD (Wildlife Rehabilitation Medical Database) preferred
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports
