The role

UNICEF is seeking a National UN Volunteer for Disaster Risk Reduction & Youth/Tribal Affairs to support the Adi Yuva Fellowship initiative in Chhattisgarh, India. This role focuses on coordinating UN interventions, integrating disaster risk reduction into tribal development programs, and empowering local youth. What you'll do

  • Map and align UNICEF and UN agency interventions in tribal districts.
  • Facilitate inter-agency meetings to address tribal development and DRR shared priorities.
  • Integrate DRR principles into local health, education, and social protection programs.
  • Train and support Youth Volunteer Clubs in community resilience and climate action.
  • Draft periodic reports and documentation for donor and annual program reviews.

What it takes

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must be a member of a Scheduled Tribe community (certificate required).
  • 1 year of relevant experience in disaster management, tribal/youth development, or SDGs.
  • Demonstrated interest in developmental and social issues affecting tribal populations.
  • Ability to work in remote tribal districts and adapt to diverse rural contexts.
