The role
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme is seeking a National Field Officer to support the implementation of the EU Operational Support to the IGAD Platform in Aweil, South Sudan.
What you'll do
- Prepare regular field progress reports
- Serve as UN-Habitat’s field focal point
- Maintain effective working relationships with government counterparts
- Coordinate field activities and support project missions
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities

What it takes
- Advanced university degree in Urban Planning, Urban Management, Public Administration, Local Governance, Development Studies, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in local governance, field coordination, programme implementation or urban development
- Experience working with local authorities and communities in South Sudan
- Experience working with United Nations agencies, international organizations or multi-partner programmes
- Experience supporting urban development initiatives in humanitarian or displacement settings
- Fluency in spoken and written English
