The role
The position involves supporting communication and interaction between beneficiaries and the multidisciplinary team, addressing linguistic and cultural barriers, and contributing to the understanding of the context and data collection for medical and socio-legal issues.
What you'll do
- Facilitate the relationship between patients and healthcare providers involved in medical and mental health consultations
- Provide interpretation services between the multidisciplinary team and patients in their native language
- Support the implementation of evaluations or surveys
- Sensitize the team to cultural codes that could be barriers to service access
- Participate in the development of health education materials and community outreach activities
- Support the elaboration of linguistic and communication tools
What it takes
- Essential secondary education, social sciences, communication or teaching degree preferred
- Intermediary cultural mediation or interpretation training is an asset
- Knowledge of social protection, child protection, and accommodation and care systems for unaccompanied minors is desirable
- Experience in translation and/or cultural mediation is desirable
- Experience with vulnerable populations, adolescents, or young adults is desirable
- B driving license is highly desirable
