The role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a consultant to conduct mid-term reviews for two projects: one in Palau and another in Viet Nam, focusing on biodiversity conservation and marine and coastal natural capital assessment.

What you'll do

  • Conduct preliminary desk review and introductory interviews with project staff
  • Prepare the review framework in line with UNEP's evaluation guidelines
  • Identify stakeholders, develop interview questions matrix, and plan the review schedule
  • Draft mid-term review reports ensuring they are complete, coherent, and consistent with the TOR and Task Manager guidelines
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders

What it takes

  • A minimum advanced university degree in environmental sciences or relevant political or social sciences area is required
  • At least seven (7) years of technical/evaluation experience is required
  • Experience in GEF Biodiversity projects is desirable
  • Knowledge of the UN system, preferably including UNEP, is desirable
