The role
The Project Analyst on Legislation, Social and Gender Issues will provide technical support for strengthening the institutional and regulatory framework for climate transparency in Turkmenistan, ensuring the integration of gender equality and social inclusion into national climate reporting systems.
What you'll do
- Provide technical and analytical support for strengthening the institutional and regulatory framework governing the national climate reporting system.
- Monitor developments in international climate transparency requirements, including the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF), Modalities, Procedures and Guidelines (MPGs), and IPCC guidance.
- Support the preparation, revision, and updating of regulatory and policy documents related to climate reporting.
- Provide ongoing technical and coordination support for the preparation of national climate reports, including Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) and National Communications (NCs).
- Coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies, and technical institutions to facilitate timely collection, validation, and consolidation of required information.
What it takes
- Advanced University degree in Law, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Public Administration, Human Rights, International Development, or a related field.
- Experience in providing advisory services in legal analysis, public policy, governance, gender equality, social inclusion, or a related field in the area of environmental governance and climate change.
- Experience in conducting gap analysis and prioritizing actions in government's national environmental and climate protection policies and plans with a focus on social and gender issues.
- Fluency in Russian and Turkmen; knowledge of English is an asset.
