The Great Basin Institute is recruiting two Maintenance Technicians for the National Park Service at Haleakalā National Park in the Kīpahulu District. What you'll do
- Clear invasive vegetation from archeological sites, trails, and visitor areas.
- Maintain native and Polynesian vegetation to protect park infrastructure.
- Assist trail crews with Kūloa Point and Pīpīwai Trail maintenance.
- Perform minor repairs and painting on park buildings.
- Support Resource Management staff in stabilizing archeological sites.
What it takes
- Experience performing maintenance work without more than normal supervision.
- Ability to regularly carry at least 35 lbs without assistance.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must meet Public Land Corps (PLC) qualifications.
- Ability to pass a Department of Interior (DOI) background investigation.
