The role

The Laboratory and Diagnostics Support Officer (LDSO) will provide critical technical and operational assistance to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) under the EpiC global health project. The role focuses on supporting HPAI genomic surveillance, laboratory system strengthening, and field-based outbreak response activities. The LDSO will work alongside government stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to implement One Health molecular laboratory frameworks and conduct laboratory capacity-building workshops. This position requires a professional background in laboratory science and experience in public health emergency preparedness.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical assistance for pilot HPAI genomic surveillance implementation.
  • Develop and standardize laboratory workflows for One Health molecular surveillance.
  • Organize and conduct laboratory workshops and training programs for health sectors.
  • Support field-based outbreak investigations and emergency response activities.
  • Document project outputs and maintain laboratory surveillance records.
