The role
The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Afghanistan is seeking an Investigator to collect, consolidate, preserve, and analyze evidence of international crimes committed in Afghanistan.
What you'll do
- Participate in investigations involving serious breaches of international humanitarian law
- Supervise the preparation of investigation plans, reports, briefs and files by other investigators
- Ensure signed statements from survivors are obtained during field missions
- Represent the IIMA in briefings and conferences with investigations staff and external actors
- Search for, identify, collect, record and preserve physical evidence
What it takes
- Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in law, international law, criminal investigation, police studies or related fields
- Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible work experience in law enforcement or criminal investigations
- Experience with an international or multilateral public institution is required
- Experience gathering evidence and interviewing suspects and witnesses is required
