The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute is seeking an intern to contribute to the project 'Strengthening ASEAN Capacity for Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Disinformation Detection and Response'.
What you'll do
- Conduct desk research on CBR disinformation trends, narratives, and incidents in assigned ASEAN Member States to support the drafting of national reports.
- Map existing national policies, strategies, and institutional frameworks related to CBR crisis communication in AMS.
- Monitor and compile media and social media sources for emerging CBR disinformation narratives in the region.
- Support the drafting and editing of national reports, the annual magazine, and progress narrative reports.
- Support in the preparation of background documents, agendas, and briefing notes for virtual and in-country missions.
What it takes
- Enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme.
- Fields of study: law, political science, international relations, criminology, psychology, communication/external relations or other related fields.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Fluency in spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia and/or Bahasa Melayu is desired.
- Computer literate in standard software applications, especially Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
