The role
The Finance Specialist is responsible for ensuring sound financial management, effective and efficient implementation of financial processes for DRC Uganda. He/she will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure full compliance with DRC’s Operations Handbook, donor regulations, and statutory requirements in execution of all financial operations.
What you'll do
- Ensure compliance with DRC’s Operations Handbook, Donor Regulations, and Statutory Requirements
- Collaborate with Area and Project Managers in the preparation, development, review, and revision of project budgets
- Lead the preparation and timely updating of monthly Budget Follow-Up (BFU) reports
- Ensure the timely preparation, review, and submission of accurate interim and final financial reports
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing cash flow forecasts and funding requests
- Lead and coordinate month-end and year-end financial closure activities
What it takes
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or relevant field
- Final or Part certification in CPA or ACCA
- Proven experience in working with major institutional donors
- Proven experience in working with national partners and local/government authorities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multicultural and cross-functional teams
