Field Finance Specialist

The role

The Field Finance Specialist role is crucial for ensuring comprehensive compliance with WVIM policies, local laws, and financial reporting. This position supports proactive project/program financial management, internal and external audits, and educates the organization to maintain high compliance levels and mitigate risks.

What you'll do

• Fully responsible for reviewing financial transactions and reports for accuracy and compliance with WV policies, local laws, and donor requirements.
• Contribute to preparing the AP budget and monitor AP expenses against the approved budget and chart of accounts.
• Conduct orientation and refreshment sessions to train and coach field staff on WV financial policies and procedures.
• Provide financial advice, recommendations, and analysis to the AP manager for decision-making.
• Prepare timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and statutory financial reports in consultation with the AP/Project Manager.

What it takes

• Graduate degree with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or any relevant degree.
• Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
• Experience in the field of Finance, commercial institutions, or an NGO in the area of financial management/accounting is preferred.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practical knowledge of financial systems, internal controls, and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational communication skills.
• Intermediate level of English would be an advantage.
