The role

Lead impactful climate and community resilience projects while gaining paid, hands-on experience as an Environmental Educator in the Climate Corps Fellowship program.

What you'll do

  • Lead development and implementation of school projects related to climate action
  • Collaborate with CAPS and industry experts on sustainability initiatives
  • Gather and interpret data on district’s electricity, natural gas, and other measures relevant to reducing greenhouse gas emissions
  • Recruit, select, and mentor high school interns for the Sustainability Specialist apprenticeship program
  • Serve as primary case manager for registered apprentices
  • Coordinate training delivery alongside CAPS managers and instructors

What it takes

  • Two years of applicable teaching experience in formal or after-K–12 school settings
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, environmental science, engineering, or an equivalent field
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and travel periodically within the Central Valley and LA regions
  • Outstanding project management skills with experience planning, tracking, and reporting on multiple projects
  • Excellent data analysis skills with ability to distill complex data sets into recommendations
  • Proven ability to facilitate, manage, collaborate, and communicate effectively with stakeholders
