The role

Catholic Charities of Broome County is seeking an Employment Specialist for Individualized Placement and Support (IPS) and Assisted Competitive Employment (ACE) programs, responsible for supporting individuals in finding and maintaining competitive employment.

What you'll do

Support individuals in finding and maintaining competitive employment
Assess consumers’ employment preferences and career goals
Provide benefits counseling and job coaching
Develop and maintain relationships with local employers
Attend and participate in daily team meetings
Complete employment-related documentation

What it takes

Minimum high school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum one year personal or professional experience in providing direct services related to treatment and recovery of persons with serious mental illness
Experience and/or training in vocational counseling, IPS Model and job development
Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less
Valid Driver’s license and the ability to legally operate a vehicle in NYS
Good computer skills with working knowledge of reporting tools such as New York Employment Services System (NYESS)
