The role

The Chief Technical Advisor (CTA) serves as the senior technical lead for UNDP's biodiversity conservation and climate resilience portfolio in the Pacific.   • Support PMUs with work planning, budgeting, risk management, and quality assurance of deliverables.
  • Coordinate monitoring, reporting, and evaluation activities consistent with GEF and UNDP standards.
  • Strengthen the capacity of government partners through mentoring and on-the-job training.
  • Foster partnerships and support resource mobilization efforts to scale project interventions.

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree in Natural Sciences, Ecology, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in biodiversity or climate resilience.
  • Proven experience with donor-funded projects and GEF-funded project implementation.
  • Fluency in English is required; experience in SIDS or the Pacific region is highly desirable.
  • Strong competency in UNDP project cycles, RBM, and technical advisory roles.
