The role

The Carbon Markets and Article 6 Consultant for Costa Rica will collaborate with the Climate Ambition and Transparency Team to improve knowledge of Article 6 in Costa Rica through a regional approach, support stakeholders in establishing or participating in carbon markets, and strengthen technical capacities related to compliance.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical input and feedback on the roadmap for the implementation of carbon markets and Article 6
  • Facilitate participation of stakeholders in knowledge exchange events to strengthen technical capacities related to compliance
  • Provide technical support for the identification and assessment of potential projects to advance and scale up carbon markets

What it takes

  • Bachelor's degree in law, engineering, environmental sciences, economics, finance, administration, political science, international relations or a related field
  • Four years of experience in environmental policy, climate change, environmental sciences, environmental economics, climate policy, research in environmental sciences, or related fields
  • Fluency in Spanish and confident level of English
