The role
The Asistente de Protección y Referencias will support the local Coordinator and Protection Officer in various tasks related to protection and human rights, including following up on medical referrals, sensitizing on humanitarian action, and supervising activities at family reunification points.
What you'll do
- Follow up on medical referrals by the medical team
- Sensitize on the scope of humanitarian action of the Red Cross in matters of human mobility
- Position the role of the Red Cross as a key local actor in matters of human mobility
- Reinforce articulation with local government actors on the importance of protecting and promoting the rights of people in human mobility
- Accompany local initiatives aimed at assistance, protection, and integration of people in human mobility
- Influence public narratives and attitudes on human mobility based on evidence and principles of the Movement
What it takes
- Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Education, Social Work, Nursing, Health Promotion, Communication, Public Health
- At least 1 year of experience as a health referent, promoter, or professional in advocacy
- At least 1 year of experience working with health teams, including doctors and nurses, in community health and protection activities
- Experience working with the Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement is desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
