The role

The Ohio Association of Foodbanks (OAF) is seeking AmeriCorps members to support a coordinated statewide effort to improve health by getting healthy food into the homes of food-insecure Ohioans. Members will work at 7 different food banks across Ohio, focusing on expanding and sustaining 'Food Is Medicine' initiatives. The role involves implementing research-based guidelines for charitable food systems and building referral partnerships with healthcare providers.

What you'll do

• Implement and maintain research-based HER guidelines at distribution sites
• Expand and execute referral partnerships with Medicaid managed care providers
• Implement evidence-based pre-packaged food box and meal models
• Support services addressing hunger as a social determinant of health

What it takes

• Experience in public health or community outreach
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work at various food bank locations
• Proficiency in computers and technology
