The role
JCC Greater Boston is seeking caring, patient, and enthusiastic Advocate Camp Counselors for their School Break Camps during various dates in November, December, January, February, and April.
What you'll do
- Partner with co-counselors to build an inclusive group dynamic
- Implement accommodations from camper ICPs
- Support campers in fully engaging with bunk life and activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of campers
- Participate in and support campers during swim times
- Communicate regularly with co-counselors and leadership
What it takes
- 10th grade (or equivalent) and eligible for work permit
- 1+ season of experience working with children
- Concentration in Special Needs, Special Education, or similar field of study
- Genuine enjoyment of working with children
- Strong safety awareness and communication skills
- Leadership qualities including patience, flexibility, teamwork, and creativity
