The role
The Advisor, Health Financing will work under the guidance of the Directorate of Policy Planning and Coordination to support Malawi's health financing reform agenda while strengthening the Ministry's capacity to engage with various stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Develop economic models to support high-level health policy advice
- Support the design and implementation of policies aimed at reducing out-of-pocket expenditure
- Conduct health financing reform options analysis
- Facilitate engagement between the Ministry, private sector actors, investors, development finance institutions, commercial financiers, and development partners
- Develop a domestic financing readiness assessment for Malawi's m-mama project
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Economics, Economics, International Development, Political Science, or related field
- Relevant graduate-level training in economics, health financing, health policy, private sector engagement, public affairs, international development, or public health
- Experience working with governments in a technical advisory role
- Experience working with major donors and knowledge of funding cycles and proposal development
- Quantitative analysis experience and skills using standard costing tools
