The role

The incumbent will be responsible for administrative assistance in the implementation of projects, particularly performing a wide range of office support and administrative functions using Umoja.

What you'll do

  • Perform a wide range of office support and administrative functions using the United Nations’ Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system, Umoja.
  • Monitor processes and schedules related to outputs, tasks, and projects; assist in verification of receipt and accuracy of requisite documents, approvals, and signatures.
  • Generate financial reports and work orders using various databases.
  • Respond or draft responses to routine correspondence and other communications.
  • Use standard word processing package to produce large, complex documents and reports.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as reviewing interoffice vouchers (IOVs), maintaining contacts with UNDP, preparing arrangements for meetings and other events.

What it takes

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in administration, project support, finance, budget, or related operational support functions is required. The minimum number of years of relevant experience is reduced to one (1) for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher.
  • Work experience supporting the organization of workshops, conferences, meetings, and related logistical arrangements is desirable.
  • Work experience in grant management, financial monitoring, budget implementation, or processing administrative and financial transactions is desirable.
  • Work experience using an ERP system (such as SAP/Umoja) is desirable.
  • Work experience in the United Nations Common System or similar large international organizations is desirable.
