ForGood

Privacy policy

Effective October 5, 2026. What ForGood collects, why, who else sees it, and how to opt out.

This policy covers forgoodjobs.org (“ForGood”, “we”), operated by ForGoodJobs. You can use the site without an account and without telling us who you are. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect

When you browse

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (country and city level), the device and browser, and how people arrived. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this. We use the reports only in aggregate, to improve the site.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and request details to serve the site and protect it from abuse, and may set a security cookie when it runs a bot check.

Advertising

ForGood shows ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

Where the law requires your consent for these cookies (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland), we ask for it through a consent message before personalized ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time.

Email job alerts

If you sign up for alerts, we store your email address, the categories and countries you chose, whether you want remote roles, how often you want emails, and when you signed up, confirmed, and were last emailed. We use this only to send the alerts you asked for and the emails needed to run them (confirmation and manage links). We never sell it or share it with employers. The signup form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are human. Subscriber records are stored in Cloudflare's database service, and emails are sent through our email provider, Resend.

Every alert has a one-click unsubscribe link. After you unsubscribe we keep your address marked as unsubscribed, so we don't email it again; email us to have it deleted completely.

Resume matching and saved roles

The resume matcher runs entirely in your browser: your resume is never uploaded to us or anyone else. Roles you save are kept in your browser's local storage on your device, and we can't see them.

When you email us

We keep your message and address to reply to you, and delete them when they're no longer needed.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell personal information.
  • We don't take job applications, so we never hold your CV or application details. When you click “Apply”, you go to the employer's own site, and its privacy policy applies there.
  • We don't knowingly collect data from children under 16. The site is for job seekers.

Legal bases (EEA / UK visitors)

We process alert subscriptions on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw by unsubscribing. We process analytics and advertising cookies on the basis of consent where it is required, and otherwise on our legitimate interest in running and funding a free site. We process security data on our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and California law), you can ask to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Retention

Alert subscriber records are kept while you're subscribed (see above for after you unsubscribe). Backups of them are kept for 14 days. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting in our Google Analytics account.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the effective date above.
