The role

Launch Housing is seeking a compassionate Youth Mentor Volunteer to support young people experiencing homelessness at the Glen Waverley Education First Youth Foyer. Volunteers provide guidance, encourage self-reliance, and share life experiences to help mentees achieve their educational and career goals. This role requires a commitment to the Advantaged Thinking approach and a desire to make a long-term impact on the lives of vulnerable youth.

What you'll do

  • Engage in social and recreational activities with a designated mentee.
  • Share personal education and career experiences to assist in the mentee's journey.
  • Help mentees with goal-setting and developing independent living skills.
  • Provide consistent, non-judgmental emotional support and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of sessions and report any safety or risk concerns to staff.
