The role
Action for Children is seeking multiple Young Person's Practitioners to provide intensive one-to-one support and group interventions for youth aged 11–18 at risk of criminal exploitation. The role focuses on helping young people navigate complex challenges and move toward positive pathways in education, training, and employment. Practitioners will collaborate with multi-agency partners, including local authorities and police, to perform risk assessments and implement effective safeguarding strategies. This permanent, full-time position aims to empower vulnerable youth and build their resilience through mentorship and community-based support.
What you'll do
- Work in partnership with local authorities, youth justice services, and the police.
- Provide intensive 1-2-1 support for young people at risk of offending.
- Support youth with issues regarding emotional wellbeing, exploitation, and peer pressure.
- Facilitate group activities and outdoor programs to build life skills.
- Build trust and rapport to assist young people in making effective life decisions.
