The role

The Workforce Development Floater assists individuals with disabilities in establishing meaningful connections within their community and provides opportunities to build relationships, self-confidence, and independence to supplement employment.

What you'll do

  • Assist individuals with disabilities in establishing meaningful connections within their community
  • Provide coaching and support to build relationships, self-confidence, and independence
  • Develop a process for exploring individual strengths, skills, needs, and interests
  • Teach additional skills such as appropriate social skills, grooming/hygiene, money management, safety, and transportation
  • Complete assessments, write regular case notes, and submit reports to referral sources
  • Be available to work evenings and weekends

What it takes

  • Two years of college education in counseling, special education, occupational therapy, social services, or related field
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets insurance company criteria
  • Experience working with individuals with employment barriers
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Systems (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and be flexible
