What you'll do
- Conduct nighttime broadcast surveys for northern spotted and other owl species.
- Perform daytime surveys to locate nests and determine nesting status.
- Collect clear, concise, and accurate ecological field data.
- Communicate professionally with crew leaders, project managers, and landowners.
- Navigate and operate 4WD vehicles on forest roads.
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology or related field preferred.
- Ability to hike off-trail in steep, brushy conditions and inclement weather.
- Proficiency in GPS, map reading, and orienteering.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work flexible day, night, or split shifts.
