The role

The Western Iowa Assistant Land Steward performs critical preserve operations, including land management activities like prescribed fire, livestock management, and invasive species control. Based at the Broken Kettle Grasslands, this role involves maintaining infrastructure, monitoring easements, and coordinating work groups of staff, interns, and volunteers. The position requires a physically active individual comfortable working in variable, often remote, outdoor conditions.
