The role

The WASH Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) activities in Cabo Delgado province, Mozambique, focusing on program implementation, coordination, quality assurance, procurement, community engagement, capacity building, and data management.

What you'll do

  • Support the implementation of WASH interventions in both rural and small-town contexts
  • Provide technical support for WASH in Schools (WinS) and WASH in Health Care Facilities (HCFs)
  • Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of water supply systems and sanitation services focusing on CLTS, market-based sanitation, and sanitation voucher approaches
  • Ensure quality assurance in the sanitation services delivery including sanitation infrastructures
  • Conduct regular field visits to verify technical compliance, progress, and functionality
  • Support data management, reporting, and documentation

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in WASH programming
  • Demonstrated expertise in community mobilization and Water, sanitation and hygiene practices
  • Deep understanding of Community-Led Total Sanitation approaches
  • Excellent computer skills in word, excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with GIS applications would be an asset
  • Analytical mindset, and people orientated
